Smoky Quartz Prepares For 2025

Sharpen your pen and warm up your computer—Smoky Quartz will begin the new year with new guidelines and an invitation to submit your poetry, prose and artwork.

Watch for the new submission guidelines at the end of this month. We’re looking forward to seeing your best work.

The Smoky Quartz team also looks forward to working with Kathi Duprey, a new member of our production team.

Thank you to Bj Hertz and Shana Chartier for their previous work in production. We wish them both well in their careers.

Update on Need for Volunteers

MWG’s Smoky Quartz team is looking for volunteers to help coordinate the editorial process, such as scheduling editorial meetings, responding to submissions via email, and writing announcements for the Smoky Quartz website and MWG’s newsletter, among other tasks. Currently, the team is well staffed with editors who review submissions. However, joining the team now to help with other editorial or production tasks may lead to the opportunity to review submissions in the future.

Please contact us at mwgsmokyquartz@gmail.com about your interest, skills, or with any questions.
