When all the world appears to be in a tumult, and nature itself is feeling the assault of climate change, the seasons retain their essential rhythm. Yes, fall gives us a premonition of winter, but then, winter, will be forced to relent, once again, to the new beginnings of soft greens, longer light, and the sweet air of spring.
~ Madeleine M. Kunin
Spring flows out to the world from secret places…
This winter continued a long Covid year that wasn’t easy but always thought-provoking. Our contributors went within and deep. Their poetry, prose and images express something of what they found, unexpected blooms of insight and feeling.
The issue features work by Rae Bastoni, Molly Berard, Alice Christian, April Claggett, Ann B. Day, Diane B. Forman, Jack M. Freedman, Carlene M. Gadapee, Dev Hardikar, Maxwell Irwin, Jennifer MacBain-Stephens, Carl-Peter Mayer, Nattie O’Sheggzy, Meg J. Petersen, Tracy L. Thompson, Susan Levin Wessels, and Allison Whittenberg. We are grateful to them all!
Our thanks to the many writers and poets and artists who submitted work. We are now accepting submissions for the Fall 2021 issue. Please click here for submission guidelines. Submission deadline is September 26. We look forward to reading your best work.
