Welcome to the fall 2016 issue of Smoky Quartz. Many thanks to the talented writers and artists who have shared their work in this issue. We hope you enjoy the rich and varied sights and sounds of their prose, poetry, and artwork.

Spring has arrived in New Hampshire with its potpourri of green shoots in gardens, early blossoms, and longer days of light. And the latest issue of Smoky Quartz—another beautiful spring collection—is now online. Many thanks to the writers and artists who’ve shared their poetry, prose, and artwork to create this issue.
We dedicate this issue in memory of Gail Hersey, a member of the Monadnock Writers’ Group, who is remembered by a friend for her “personal warmth, and her wonderful, unique writing.” Gail’s poem, Kintsugi, appeared in the fall 2015 issue of Smoky Quartz.
