MWG’s Smoky Quartz team is looking for volunteers to help review submissions, coordinate the editorial process, and produce issues for our online journal. UPDATE 9/20/24:

The Monadnock Writers’ Group meeting scheduled for Saturday, September, 21st, is CANCELLED

Unfortunately, one of the artists in residence at MacDowell has tested positive for COVID. Per MacDowell’s protocol, readings would have to take place outdoors. Given the weather forecast, the Monadnock Writers’ Group Board decided to cancel the event. They hope to meet at MacDowell another time this year.

Monadnock Writers’ Group Meetings: 10-Minute Readers

September 21 at MacDowell – Karen Drew
October 19 at Peterborough Town Library – Fred Gerhard
November 16 at Peterborough Town Library – Brian Evans-Jones

The September meeting of the Monadnock Writer’s Group will be held at the James Baldwin Library at MacDowell, 100 High Street, Peterborough. The meeting will begin with social time at 9:45 a.m., followed by the meeting at 10:00 a.m

The October and November meetings will be held at the Peterborough Town Library and will also begin with social time at 9:45 a.m., followed by the meeting at 10:00 a.m.

Monadnock Writers’ Group and the Smoky Quartz team offer our sincere gratitude to Deni Dickler, who concluded her run as editor with us after the publication of the Spring 2024 issue.

Deni joined the editorial team in 2019 and helped edit our online issues and the special print edition of the journal, the Smoky Quartz Tenth Anniversary Anthology.

We are thankful to Deni for her many years of editorial work and leadership, and for her dedication to promoting and supporting writers and artists.

We wish her well in all of her future endeavors.
